IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE

For many, this is the most exotic island in the Aegean Sea because of its extraordinary colors and landscape and undoubtedly one of the most impressive islands of the Cyclades. Volcanic rocks paint the beaches in hues of red, pink, and orange. Sarakiniko and Kleftiko, with their white rock formations, emerald green water, and caves eroded by the sea, are soaked in tales about pirates. The catacombs, the beaches, the multicolored settlements of Klima, Emborios, and Mandrakia with their picturesque houses carved into the cliffs and Plaka's sunsets are no coincidence. It is here that the Venus de Milo, the exquisite life-size marble statue believed to be the goddess Aphrodite, was discovered.
